Our practice is committed to creating an inclusive and safe environment where everyone can feel valued, understood, and supported in their therapeutic journey.Working with individuals and couples, we provide counselling and therapy services for the following areas.

  • Clinical depression is more than just a sad mood it is a physical and emotional state that can impact a person’s ability to function day to day. Often depression is characterised by feelings of helplessness and hopelessness with negative feelings towards self. Counselling and therapy provides a setting to understand the root cause of the depression and possible perpetuating factors while facilitating a healing journey.

  • is a state of fear, a perception of being in danger or in a situation that a person does not feel they are able to handle. Anxiety can be a normal response to a fearful situation, producing a physical reaction in preparation to either fight or flight, anxiety becomes debilitating when this physical reaction is frequently activated, due to an ongoing perceived sense of danger. For those suffering from anxiety, the emotional and physical effects can be exhausting and debilitating. Treatment aims to address the physical, emotional and cognitive effects of anxiety, providing tools to manage the symptoms while working with underlying belief systems.

  • Many people experience strong emotions or physical reactions after a traumatic event. For most people these symptoms ease over the days and weeks that follow but for some, symptoms can continue impacting their quality of life. There may be several reasons for this including the nature of the trauma, the support available, previous life stressors and personality factors. Trauma counselling aims to assist in managing these symptoms with the goal of returning the person to pre trauma functioning.

  • There are many stages of grief that are a normal part of the healing journey, some people manage these stages over time through the help and support of loved ones. But for others, who may not have the support or because of the nature of their grief, can experience complicated grief causing a person to feel stuck. Grief counselling provides a setting to explore a person’s thoughts, feelings, beliefs and meanings in a safe way aiding in the healing process.

  • Life can be stressful, learning to manage stress is an important part of living a healthy and fulfilling life. Treatment focuses on addressing the internal experience of thoughts, feelings, beliefs and expectations as well as the physical impact of stress through body awareness, relaxation, emotion regulation and mindfulness.

  • Relationships are a very important part of our lives but when they are not working they can be very challenging and painful. Relationship counselling aims to assist couples and families identify negative patterns of interaction that prevent them from experiencing emotional intimacy and authenticity. Through intervention new patterns are developed to foster greater empathy, understanding and intimacy.
